50ft Cruiser Stern

About this boat

Built by Hancock and Lane and fitted by Alvechurch Boats, this 1984 50ft (15.24m) Cruiser Stern narrowboat has been with the current owners since 2013. Constructed in all steel, the vessel has a 6mm (¼”) hull with 6mm doubler plates fitted aft. The craft also has overplating to the base plate from 9m to 15m using 6mm nominal steel. Powered by a Beta Marine 38hp engine installed in 2015, the boat was last serviced in May 2025. Water heating is supplied via the engine, while the cabin currently has no installed heating; however, a tiled hearth and flue opening are already in place for fitting a solid fuel stove. The boat was last blacked and surveyed in May 2025. Following the survey, the recommendations noted were and would need addressing: Minor pitting was identified and is expected to require pad welding at future dockings.
