About this boat

Tacet is a 57ft 1in trad narrowboat, built in 1999, combining an Alexander Boats shell with a fit-out by the experienced John Lillie of Riverview Narrowboats. This long-standing partnership produced a number of fine quality boats, and Tacet is a lovely example of their work. The traditional layout features a welcoming saloon at the fore, L-shaped dinette, galley and aft bedroom, with flexible accommodation for up to six. A permanent double is complemented by make-up doubles from the saloon sofa and dinette. Practical and aesthetically pleasing, are the opposing side doors in the galley, providing convenient access to either side of the towpath. The electrical specification includes a Sterling 2.5kW inverter/70A charger, engine driven generator and three solar panels with MPPT controller. Heating is provided by an Eberspacher diesel boiler, and the engine can also heat the central heating circuit, while a feature enamelled solid fuel stove adds character to the saloon. The galley includes gas cooking, 12V fridge and washer/dryer, while the shower room has a shower, cassette WC and washbasin. Tacet offers an appealing combination of traditional character with comfortable cruising.
